Fabric Manipulation

Fabric manipulation has always been something I have always been fascinated with. Creating texture and tactile pieces through the art of manipulation. I love the range of textures and the interesting surfaces that just draw my eye to them wondering how it was done. 

So in my search for forms and shapes I created a range of fabric experiments to create different surfaces with a large variety of materials. Using both hand and machine embroidery techniques.

Below is a selection of some of the samples I created. Ranging from melting fabrics to pleating with a machine.
