Cluttered Fashion

As my work is more fashion based I have started looking into how cluttering can also take a part in the way in which we dress. Newer trends have now seen people layering up bundles of t-shirts, jumpers, knitwear and coats, showing off as many items as is possible. The nomad look has been a big hit this winter season. The layers and large quantity is a great representation of clothes cluttering. It is important I understand the trends and styles that are becoming big right now, to ensure my work is contemporary and done in the right manner.
I am inspired by how the layers drape the body and almost look as if they are in the way and obstructing. Just like clutter. This can be a huge inspiration in my work when determining how my pieces will be applied to the body.

I am especially inspired by Missoni's 2009 collection. The focus was layers upon layers of clothes and winter accessorizes. I really like the messy and unorganized appearance, how the combination of all the different materials contrast. It makes the outfits look so much more tactile and interesting.
